The Rev. Joseph Giovenco of 306 W. Hemlock St., Abbotsford, has since August 1982, been pastor of Christ Lutheran Church at Second and Birch Streets in Abbotsford. Giovenco was born June 20, 1935 in East Liverpool, Ohio. In July 1982 he graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and his ordination occurred August 15, 1982 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Joliet, Illinois. From July 1980 to July 1981 he did his vicarage at Trinity Lutheran Church, Goodland, Indiana. Previous to entering the ministry, Giovenco was an electronic technician and industrial electrician for 16 years in the Joliet area. The pastor and his wife, Frances are the parents of a son, Edward Giovenco, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and two daughters, Mrs. Vicki Shimko, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Mrs. Lynn Watkins, Palm Harbor, Florida.
