Engebretson, Gertrude L. (1914-28 July 1983)

THORP -- Services will be Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, Blair, for a former Thorp resident, Mrs. Vernal (Gertrude L.) Engebretson, 69, of Blair, who died Thursday at Tri-County Memorial Hospital, Whitehall.

Burial will be in the Church cemetery. Visitations will will be at Jack Funeral Home, Blair.

The former Gertrude Stephenson was born in Jackson County. She and Vernal Engebretson were married March 3, 1945 in Eau Claire. She taught elementary school in Taylor, Thorp, and Whitehall, retiring in 1976.

Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Martha Thompson and Mrs. Gerda Grass, both of Blair, Miss Marie Engebretson, Merrill; and Miss Carol Engebretson, Watertown; two brothers, Theodore Stephenson, Madison, and Ole Stephenson, Tillamook, Oregon; and seven grandchildren.

Note: Parents were Steffenson, children used Stephenson.
