Bartz, Carl (6 January 1890 – 23 February 1981)
Carl Bartz, 91, a former Town of Lynn farmer and Greenwood resident died on
Monday, February 23, in Neillsville Memorial Hospital. He had been a resident of
the Greenwood Home for Aged for a number of years.
The deceased was born on January 6, 1890, in Russia. He married Emela Hoffman
and the couple farmed in the Town of Lynn. He later lived in Chicago and the
Greenwood areas.
Surviving Bartz are three sons, Reinhold and Arthur, both of Chicago, and Selon
of Oakfield; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Gertrude) Pungercar of Sheboygan and
Mrs. Edith Fester, of Las Vegas, Nev.; fourteen grandchildren; and eleven
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died on May 17,
1931.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning, February 26, from the
Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton. The Rev. Maynard Stokka of Zion American
Lutheran Church officiated with burial made in Zion’s cemetery.
