Several area FFA members recently attended the FFA Washington Conference in the
nation's capital.
Attending the week-long program were Terry Byrne, Neillsville, Beverly Howard,
Granton, and Virgil Esselman, Loyal.
The conference is held to help FFA members improve leadership skills, better
understand U.S. history and prepare for more effective leadership roles in their
chapters and communities.
In addition to touring Washington's many attractions, the three youths visited
the office of U.S. Rep. Steve Gunderson, R-3rd District, and attended a Capitol
Hill luncheon featuring a question-anser session with congressmen and business
leaders.
Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bryne, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. William
Howard, Granton; and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Esselman, Loyal. Their FFA advisers
are Terry Sischo, Neillsville; Francis Steiner, Granton; and David Von Ruden,
Loyal.
