OWEN -- Services for Henry R. Scheel, 88, of Route 1, Owen, who died Saturday at
Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, will be Tuesday at Maurina Funeral Home.
Owen.
The Rev. Margaret Shepherd of First Congregational-United Church of Christ will
officiate. Cremation will follow.
He was born March 5, 1895 in Alexandria, Minnesota to the late Mr. and Mrs.
William (Martha) Scheel. He and Myrtle Brees were married September 20, 1917 in
Alexandria, Minnesota. They farmed in Minnesota until moving to the Town of
Green Grove in 1923 They farmed there until 1955 and then he continued as a
carpenter.
A veteran of World War I, Mr. Scheel is survived by his wife; three sons, Floyd
of Madison, Robert of Rhinelander and Kenneth of Grand Junction, Colorado; one
daughter, Mrs. Phyliss Coaty of Marshfield; four brothers, Frank of Tennessee,
Roland of Pennsylvania, Lawrence of Texas and Ralph of Wisconsin Rapids; three
sisters, Mrs. Sophie Schulhauer of Marshfield, Mrs. Ray (Minnie) Lapp of
Westboro and Mrs. Etta VanDreel, Prentice; eight grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son Billy, and a sister.
