Schecklman, Leo (90th – 23 March 1981)
Decade Short of Century, Leo Schecklman Honored in Loyal
Leo Schecklman, Rt. 4 Neillsville, was honored for his 90th birthday at a mass,
Saturday evening, March 21, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, and a party
Sunday, March 22 at Amber Inn, Loyal.
He was born March 23, 1891, in the Town of York, where he still lives. During
his lifetime, he has held many different jobs, but farmed for most of the time
until 1970. He still resides on his farm.
On June 5, 1917, he married Mary Walter who died June 5, 1962. Their seven
children are George, Anthony, Foreign, Rosie, Edward, Robert and James. There
are 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Attending the party were his two brothers, and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Schecklman of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schecklman of Marshfield.
Also attending were Mr./Mrs. George Schecklman and Shelley, Clara Gaulke,
Mr./Mrs. Bradley Schecklman and Sandy Erickson, Ronnie and Dean, of Chili;
Mr./Mrs. Larry Schueller, Mr./Mrs. Michael Knutson and Mr./Mrs. Michael Snyder &
Dustin, of Marshfield; and Mr./Mrs. Tim Braun & Chad, Mr./Mrs. Leland Dietsche,
Scott, Tammy, Bryan, Eric, Nicole, and Joel, and Mary Braun, all of Spencer.
Also attending wee Debbie Schecklman, Joe Wolf, Mr./Mrs. Anthony Walter, Sr.,
Anne Walter and Father James Logan, all of Loyal; Mr./Mrs. Roland Mueller,
Latrobe, Pa.; Mr. Michael Mueller, Rochester, N.Y.; Mr./Mrs. Louis Aumann and
Tom, Butler; Marlene Klippel, Richfield; and Mr./Mrs. Edward Schecklman, Daniel,
Todd, Sara, John and Loir, Mr./Mrs. James Schecklman, Cindy and Jimmy, and
Mr./Mrs. Anthony Schecklman, Joline, Richard, Patricia, and Timothy, of Rt. 4
Neillsville.
One grandson, Peter Schecklman, son of Mr./Mrs. Edward Schecklman, is stationed
with the U.S. Army in Germany and was unable to attend.
