An Abbotsford High School student won honors at North Central Technical
Institute’s fourth annual Super Bowl of Business Skills held in Wausau Friday,
February 2, 1973.
Shirley Witt, daughter of Mrs. Marjorie Witt, won a fourth place trophy in the
Bookkeeping Division, for competition on this division. Other students entered
in the Business skills contest were Gale, Wichlacz, Cindy Stumpner, Marilyn
Schreiber, Wendy Kramer, Debbie Schmidt, Patti Hansen, and Dawn Zirngibl.
Local contestants were accompanied by Mrs. Linda Laird, Business Education
teacher in Abbotsford.
A total of 250 students from 25 area high schools competed in beginning and
advance typing, beginning and advanced shorthand, bookkeeping, and spelling.
Championship plaques were presented to the first place winters in each event,
and trophies were awarded to second, third and fourth place winners in each
event.
The contest is sponsored each year by students at NCTI’s Chapter of the
Wisconsin Office Education Association as a community service project. NCTI
officials and judges praised the outstanding level of proficiency demonstrated
by all contestants.
