Goeltz, Frank H. (30 Sep 1893 – 2 Feb 1973)
Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lulloff Funeral Home for
Frank H. Goeltz, 79, Colby, who died at 1:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s
Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been admitted on January 31, 1973.
The Rev. Bervie Scott, pastor of the Methodist Church in Colby, officiated.
Burial was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Masonic and Eastern Star rites were
also conducted.
Mr. Goeltz was born September 30, 1893 in Pickett, Wisconsin. He moved to Colby
in 1906 and graduated. On June 29, 1922 he married the former Mae Bradley in
Winnebago County.
He enlisted in the Army during World War I and served overseas. He had been a
rural mail carrier for the Colby post Office for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Colby Fire Department, Colby Masonic Lodge 204, the Eau
Claire Scottish Rite Conservatory, the American Legion Post 206, the Abbotsford
Order of Eastern Star, and the Marathon County Retired Mail Carriers
Association.
Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Frank, Colby; a daughter, Mrs. Bill
(Francis) Neitzel, Colby; a sister, Mrs. Carl Wickman, Sheboygan Falls, ten
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
