Fire of unknown origin Friday night completely destroyed a home on the Louis
Holden farm, located six miles east of Abbotsford, and one-half mile north.
The Abbotsford Fire Department was summoned to the blaze about 11 p.m. and
remained on the scene until mid-Saturday morning. The Dorchester Fire Department
was then summoned as pumps started to freeze up.
Only a few items were saved in the blaze, with loss set at about $10,000. The
structure was partially insured.
The blaze, notice by Holden (or Holder) when he arrived home, is believed to
have started as a result of an overheated oil burner. A neighbor summoned the
fire department.
