James J. Gray, a native of Colby, has been named manager of maintenance at
Plainwell paper Company, Inc., by Richard L. Saddler, manager of engineering and
maintenance.
Gray is responsible for developing necessary maintenance programs for the paper
mill, and supporting equipment.
He joined Plainwell paper from the St. Regis Paper Company in Deferiet, N.Y.
Prior to that he was associated with the Sterling Paper Company in Eau Claire,
Wisconsin, serving in plant engineering positions at both locations.
Active in several professional organizations, Gray is a member of the Technical
Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI), the Paper Industry
Management Association (PIMA), and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Gray received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the
University of Wisconsin.
He and his wife, the former Lew Ellyn Sytsma, live in Portage, Michigan with
their three children.
