Harlin, Selma (75th – 2 April 1981)
Celebrating her75th birthday in the same house in which she was born was Mrs.
Carl (Selma) Harlin, Rt. 1 Granton. Joining her in the Thursday, April 2, gala
was a son, Dick and his wife, Shirley of Neillsville; a sister and
brother-in-law, Harold and Clara Mortensen, Granton; Lillian (Schlinsog) Zahnow,
a longtime friend and grade school classmate; and Harold Garbisch, a neighbor.
Except for about 15 years, Selma had lived her entire life on the 80-acre dairy
farm that her father, Carl Retta, cleared the turn of the century. She and her
husband sold their diary operation about ten years ago.
