Bengford, Bonnie Marie (17 Feb 1973)
Miss Bonnie Marie Bengford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bengford,
Dorchester, and Arlo Slack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Slack, Viroqua, were
united in marriage Saturday, February 17, 1973 during a double ring ceremony.
The ecumenical service was performed by the Rev. Wm. Montgomery and the Rev.
Father Ed Buetner in the Ezekial Lutheran Church in River Falls.
The bride, presented in marriage by her father and mother, approached the altar
wearing a white floor length gown of Chantilly lace and a floor length mantilla
veil. She carried a heart shaped bouquet of red roses with rose streamers.
Miss Leann Bengford, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and was attired
in a mint green floor length gown with an empire waistline. She wore a matching
headpiece.
Similarly attired in pink and blue were friends of the bride, Miss Karen Runde
of Menomonie and Miss Gail McKerrow, Pewaukee, as bridesmaids. They carried
baskets of spring flowers to match their gowns.
Carl Volden, Genoa, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Rudrud, Westby and
Steve Theis, Burnsville. Carl Volden was soloist and sang the wedding song
during the ceremony. Miss Judy Annenson was organist.
A wedding reception was held at River Falls following the ceremony.
Mrs. Slack is a 1969 graduate of Colby High School and has been attending the
University of Wisconsin, River falls. Her husband is a 1969 graduate of Viroqua
High School, is also a student at River Falls, where the newlyweds are making
their home.
