The Clark County Board Tuesday approved the appointment of two members to
replace two supervisors who have died since the last session.
Edna Hill, Route 2, Owen, was named to fill the unexpired term of Clarence
Geary, of District 2.
Named to fill the unexpired term of Norman Freedlund in District 21 was George
Ulrich, Route 1, Neillsville.
Hill, now retired, was director of nursing at the Clark County Health Care
Center at Owen. Ulrich, a farmer, also is a member of the Town of Levis Board.
Following the appointment, the Board then named other members to committee
positions held by Freedlund and Geary.
Ray Hetzel, Town of York, will replace Feedlund and Alvin Stoiber, Dorchester,
will replace Geary on the Clark County Health Center Care and Memorial Hospital
Committee. Both were also named to the Health Care Center Building Committee.
Robert Kunze, Neillsville, was appointed to replace Feedlund on the Forestry and
Parks and Planning and Lands committees, and Ulrich will replace Geary on the
Industrial Development Committee.
Mike Kovatch, Town of Green Grove, will replace Freedlund on the Outdoor
Recreation Committee, Edna Hills replaces Freedlund on the Planning and Zoning
and Farmland Preservation Committee; Bernard Auberg, Withee, replaces Freelund
on the Solid Waste Management Committee and Donald Kaiser, Colby, replaces Geary
on the Unified Services Board.
The Board also named Steve Bezak, Abbotsford, to replace Dean Hubbard, Thorp, on
the Western Wisconsin Health Systems Agency.
Martin Hiller, rural Granton, was elected to replace Freedlund on the Health and
Social Services Committee.
Freedlund also was a member of the Committee on Committees, however, that
election is scheduled next spring.
