Kathryn A. Kasten and Brian K. Prust, both Chili area residents, were united in
marriage during early Saturday afternoon ceremonies, April 11, at St. John’s
Catholic Church of Marshfield. The Rev. George Passehl officiated. Parents of
the couple are James and Mar4y Kasten of Mosinee and Bob and Joan Prust of rural
Spencer.
Mary Kennedy, a sister of the bride from Mosinee, was matron of honor. She was
joined by Jan Herzog, Juanita Haring and Debra Bennett, all friends of the bride
from Marshfield.
On the groom’s side, Terry Prust, the groom’s brother from Loyal, was bestman.
He was joined by John Paul Kasten, the bride’s brother of Mosinee; James
Ringquist, a friend from Marshfield; and Keith Prust, the groom’s brother of
Loyal. Ushering were Mark Kasten of Mosinee and Bruce Prust of Marshfield; both
are brothers of the honored couple.
Gretchen Ratzloff and Jerome Dupuis offered special music for the ceremony.
The bride chose a crepe knit gown of the sleeveless style and featuring an
empire-waist and Watou train. She carried a bouquet of stephanotis, white roses,
white carnations, starburst mums, ferns, all bedecked with ribbons. Her
attendants wore4 street-length dresses in a blue, sheer waist and completed by
caplets. They carried single white roses adorned with blue baby’s breath. The
groom was attired in a white tuxedo with white rose boutonniere while his
attendants wore light blue jackets with navy-colored vests and slacks.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Marshfield Labor
Temple. The couple then left for a wedding trip to the islands of Oahu and Kauai
in Hawaii.
Prenuptial evens include a shower hosted by a sister, sister-in-law and
godmother; a second shower hosted by the bridesmaids and friends; and a third
shower by the bride’s future mother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Prust will make their home on Rt. 1 Chili. She is a
graduate of Mosinee Senior High and from North Central Technical Institute and
is now employed as a surgical technician at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Brian is a graduate of Loyal High School and is employed by Ken’s Siding
Specialists.
