Goebel, Margaret (13 July 1913 – 14 April 1981)
Mrs. Margaret Goebel, 67, passed away in her Granton home on Tuesday evening,
April 14. A heart attack was believed the cause of death.
Mrs. Goebel was born on July 13, 1913, in Springfield, Illinois to Joe and Susie
(Sivok) Mesar, Sr. She received her education in the Town of Grant. She later
married Wilbert Goebel in Granton ceremonies. She was a member of the Zion ALC
congregation.
Surviving her, besides her husband, are three daughters. Mrs. Jerry (Marlene)
Funtes of Bloomington, CA., Mrs. Marie Parkinson of Sunnyvale, Ca., and Mrs.
Stephen (Karen) Drescher of Schofield; one brother, Joe Mesar, Granton; one
sister, Elsie Roache, Chicago; and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Goebel were held on Saturday afternoon, April 18, from
the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Maynard Stokka
officiated, with burial made in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were
Emil and Ewald Schlinsog, Loren Virnig, Martin Hillert, Arno Winter, and Hubert
Dudei. Jay Parker served as organist for the service. The Gilbertson Funeral
Home of Granton was in charge of arrangements.
