Smart, Charles F. (18 Sep 1896 – 02 Apr 1973)
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church
in Colby for Charles F. Smart, 76, Colby, who died Monday afternoon at Wausau
Hospital North, where he had been a patient the past three weeks.
The Rev. Bervie Scott will officiate, with burial in the Colby Memorial
Cemetery. Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smart was born in the town of Hull in Marathon County on September 18, 1896,
and received his education in Colby schools. On June 15, 1932 he married Mary
Fuller, who preceded him in death in 1955.
He was a school board irector of the Lone Pine School. Mr. Smart farmed his
entire life in the town of Hull.
Survivors include a son, Grant Smart, Wausau, and a daughter, Mrs. Merten (Mary
Belle) Reckner, Spencer; six grandchildren; a brother, Ben, Milwaukee, and three
sisters, Mrs. Walter (Edith) Wurthman, Wausau; Mrs. Mike (Evelyn) Nehring,
Rothschild, and Mrs. Ruth Loughead, Abbotsford.
Besides his wife, an infant daughter, a sister and a brother preceded him in
death.
