Glenn Gaulke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gaulke, Colby, was the grand prize
winner at the Zion Lutheran School, Colby, Science Fair held Friday night.
A seventh grader, his exhibit related to pollution and the environment.
Other first prize winners and their subjects were:
- Eighth Grade: Shelba Bauer and Becki Pankow, human reproduction; Ken Monness,
birds.
- Seventh Grade: Steve Schultz, birds; Deloris Martin, development of corn and
bean seeds.
- Sixth grade: Danny Pankow, kidneys; Marjorie Martin, flowers.
- Fifth grade: Kirk Bauer, clams; Kathy Venzke, crystals.
- Fourth grade: Greg Kops, insects.
- Third grade: Esther Venzke, trees.
- Second grade: Arlene Leffel, weeds.
- First grade: Mike Pankow, amoebas; Rick Rinehart, windmills.
More than 40 exhibits were entered in the fair.
