Barr, Hilda (24 Jun 1904 – 17 Apr 1973)

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 1973 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby for Mrs. Worthing (Hilda) Barr, 68, Colby, who died at her home in Colby Tuesday morning following a lingering illness.

The Rev. David Pankow will officiate, with burial in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, is in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state beginning at 1 p.m. today (Thursday).

Mrs. Barr, the former Hilda Lahn, was born in Fairchild on June 24, 1904. She received her education in the Fairchild area school, and on March 7, 1926, married Worthing Barr at Wabasha, Minnesota.

After their marriage, they lived for one year in Chippewa Falls, in Neillsville for five years, and since 1932, resided in Colby.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

Besides her husband, survivors include three sons, Howard, Colby; Donald, Milwaukee, and Kenneth, Blaine, Minnesota, and a daughter, Mrs. Maurice (Delores) Thompson, Tomahawk.

Other survivors are 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Three brothers, Emil Lahn and Carl Lahn, both of Fairchild, and George Lahn, Albion, Michigan, also survive, along with a sister, Mrs. Arthur (Clara) Erdman.

A brother and sister preceded her in death.
