The Rev. Kenneth Loehrke, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford,
officiated at the April 14, 1973 marriage of Mary Jane Polzin, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Bernard Polzin, Route 1, Abbotsford, and Robert W. Schalk, son of Mr.
and Mrs. William Schalk, Route 2, Stratford.
Organist at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony was Jill Bremer, Abbotsford,
For her special day, the bride wore a flowered headpiece of violet orchids and
pompons with a bouquet of violet orchids, stephanotis and violet tinted pompons.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl M. Merkel, friends of the couple, were the attendants. David
Polzin and Conrad Schalk served as ushers.
The reception and dinner at 4:30 p.m. in the church basement followed the
ceremony, with a reception from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Northside Bar in Colby.
The bride graduated in 1968 from Abbotsford High School, and has been employed
as an edge stitcher at Weinbrenner Shoe Company. Mr. Schalk, a 1961 graduate of
Stratford High School, is employed at West Bend Aluminum.
The couple will reside at Route 2, Kewaskum, Wisconsin.
