Mr. and Mrs. Ken Dearth began operating the former Marten’s IGA store in Colby
on Monday, April 16, 1973. Before coming to Colby, he operated an IGA store in
Greenwood for seven years and a Food Land Store in Scandinavia for the past four
years.
The sote, to be called, Ken’s IGA, will employ Mr. and Mrs. Dearth, plus Ione
Dallmann and Bill Fahrenbach.
At present, Ken and his wife, Delores, reside with their five children in Owen.
They plan to move to Colby when they find adequate housing.
Their children are Debbie 14, Cheryl 12, Julie 11, Ken Alan 10, and Mike 6.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Marten have operated the IGA store for the past nine years.
