The new Mr. and Mrs. Jay Gallagher are making their home in Hewitt, after a
Saturday afternoon, April 25, wedding at the Neillsville United Church of
Christ.
The bride, Lori Mae Garbisch, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Garbisch,
Rt. 2 Granton. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Gallagher, Hewett
St., Neillsville.
The Rev. Gary Clark officiated at the wedding vows after the father of the bride
presented her to the altar. Offering special music for the service were Mike
Bletsoe and Mark Lavey, who offered vocal, organ and guitar selections.
Serving as matron of honor was Cindy Sachs, a sister, of the bride from Spencer.
She was joined by Cheryl Garbisch, another sister of the bride from Granton, and
Kelly Timmons, a friend of the groom from Neillsville.
Tom Free, a friend of the groom, was bestman. He was joined by Dana Meacham of
Loyal, and Don Sachs, both brothers-in-law of the couple. Ushering were Darin
Garbisch, a cousin of the bride from Granton, and Kim Meacham, a sister of the
groom from Loyal. Serving as ringbearer were Tommy Smock of Neillsville while
Devon Galetka of Granton was flower girl.
The bride chose a short sleeved-gown of sheer organza, which was lace-trimmed
with sequins and pearls, and which featured a skirt sweeping to a chapel-length
train and a lace-edged veil. She carried a bouquet of roses and daisies. The
bride’s attendants wore gowns of pink polyester with ruffle-trimmed jackets, and
they carried white fans adorned with assorted small flowers. The groom and his
attendants wore blue vested suits.
Following the 2:00 p.m. sharing of vows, a supper was held at the Wildcat Inn.
Later held was a reception and dance at the Sportsmen’s Club in Granton. The
couple announced that they would take a wedding trip at a later date.
The bride is a 1980 graduate of Granton High School and was employed at
Neillsville United Foods. The groom is a 1976 graduate of Neillsville High
School and served four years in the U.S. Navy. He is employed by Weyerhauser of
Marshfield.
