Knoop, Janet Lynn (25 April 1981)
The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated at the Saturday afternoon, April 25, wedding
rites for Janet Knoop and Joseph Sikora. The vows were shared at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church, Neillsville. Parents of the couple are Ervin and Arlys Knoop,
Rt. 3 Neillsville, and John and Catherine Sikora, 606 E. Second St.,
Neillsville.
The bride’s parents presented her to the altar. Offering special music for the
wedding were Rod and Karen Friedrichsen and Corrine Armitage with Rita Stewart
as organist.
Serving as maid of honor was Lisa Lewis, a friend of the bride. She was joined
by Teresa Marg and Denise Chaltry, both friends, and Judy Knoop, the bride’s
sister, all from Neillsville.
Bestman was Tony Sikora, the groom’s brother. He was joined on the groom’s side
by Danny Marg and Danny Langreck, both friends, and David Knoop, the bride’s
brother, all from Neillsville. Ushering were John Sikora, the groom’s brother
from Madison, and Terry Opelt, a friend from Granton.
Matthew and Melissa Marty of Neillsville served as ringbearer and flower girl.
The bride chose a Chiffenete gown featuring self-floss and Chantilly lace, a
semi-cathedral train, sweetheart neckline and a Chantilly lace veil. Her
attendants wore dresses of luster-glo knit with schifflic embroidered yokes and
sleeves trimmed in muted rainbow colors. The bride and attendants carried
flowers that matched their dresses. The groom was attired in a beige tuxedo
while his attendants wore brown tuxedos.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the American Legion Hall in
Neillsville, followed by a dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom. The couple then
left on an undisclosed honeymoon.
Both the bride and groom are 1980 graduates of Neillsville High School. The new
Mrs. Sikora is employed by the Neillsville Clinic while her husband is employed
at Nelson Muffler. They will make their home on E. Ninth St., Neillsville.
