GREENWOOD -- Leonard Braatz, 72, Crystal Lake, Illinois, a former Greenwood resident, died Friday in Crystal Lake.

There will be no visitation. The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be Thursday at United Church of Christ, Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Braatz, Leonard R. (31 August 1910-12 August 1983)

Leonard R. Braatz, 72, Crystal Lake, died Friday in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.

He was born August 31, 1910 in Grant, Wisconsin, the son of Henry and Edith Kurzrok Braatz. He married Ilma L. Hoehneon on January 1, 1947, in Greenwood, Wisconsin.Mr. Braatz was a welder for the A.O. Smith Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a member of the F and AM Masonic Greenwood Lodge 249, Greenwood, Wisconsin, and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Crystal Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Ilma; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia (Ronald) Jackson and Mrs. Alice (Floyd) Gustafson of Crystal Lake, and Mrs. (Rev. Donald) Sharon Riemer of Oakland, Iowa; three Stepsons, Ernest Enockson of Crystal Lake, Joe Enockson of Palatine, and Bill Enockson of Barrington; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Roberts Davis, Watertown, Wisconsin.

He was preceded by parents; his first wife, Ruth L. Bauman, who died in 1946; and one son, Lenn.

There will be no visitation.

Services will be at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Crystal Lake with Rev. Gene Lackare officiating.

Interment was private. (Hudson Cemetery in Lyons, Wisconsin with Ruth)

Arrangements were handled by Querhammer Funeral Home, Crystal Lake.
