Allen, Carl L. (16 December 1891-18 August 1983)

NEILLSVILLE -- Services for Carl L. Allen, 91, formerly of 314 Grand Ave., Neillsville, who died Thursday at Memorial Home, will be Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville.

The Rev. Samuel S. Kocjel, of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood, will officiate. Burial will be in Neillsville Cemetery. Visitation will be at Gesche Funeral Home.

He was born December 16, 1891 in Sweden and received his education there, He came to the United States in 1910 at the age of 19, settling in Chicago, where he worked as a finisher for the Pullman Co. for a short time. He then moved to the Neillsville area and operated a farm for 25 years. Returning to Chicago, he was employed there until his retirement in 1960, when he moved back to Neillsville. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

He and Agda Ottowson were married August 15, 1917 in Neillsville. She survives along with two sisters, Mrs. Anna Forburg of Madison and Esther in Sweden.

He was predeceased by a son, Robert, two brothers and two sisters.
