St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Grove was the setting of the 2 p.m. wedding
on April 28, 1973 of Miss Lynn Witte and Ervin Ellenbecker.
Rev. Arthur Rasch performed the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs.
Hubert Witte, Route two, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ellenbecker, Route one,
Unity.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of white sheer
nylon with Viennese lace trim and Juliet sleeves. A Juliet cap secured her
chapel mantilla edged with lace and ribbon. She carried a bouquet of red roses
and white carnations.
The bride’s sister, Miss Jeanne Witte, served as maid of honor. Lynette
Ellenbecker, sister of the groom, and Sandy Witte, sister of the bride, were
bridesmaids. The bridal attendants wore blue princess style gowns of dotted
Swiss with ruffled hemline. The carried pink and white carnations and rosebuds.
Pat Ellenbecker, brother of the groom, served as the best man. Barry Ellenbecker
and Robert Witte, brothers of the groom and bride, respectively, were the
groomsmen, and the ushers were Gary Ellenbecker and Bruce Witte.
Music during the ceremony was “Love Story,” “Close to You,” “We’ve Only Just
Begun,” and “For All We Know.”
A reception and supper in the church basement followed the ceremony, with a
dance at Unity Memorial Hall later in the evening.
The bride is a graduate of Colby High School. The groom graduated from….(the
