Wnek, Elizabeth (22 July 1899 - 14 August 1983)

THORP -- Mrs. Peter (Elizabeth) Wnek, 84, of the Thorp Care Center died there August 14.

Services were at St. Hedwig's Chapel, Thorp, August 17, the Rev. John Puerner officiating. Burial was in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.

The former Elizabeth Nowobielski was born July 22, 1899 in Budapest, Hungary. She came to the United States in 1904, living in rural Thorp. She later moved to Morgan Plaza, Thorp. She was married to Peter Wnek September 23, 1919 at Thorp. He died December 26, 1979.

Survivors include a son, Robert of Altoona; thee daughters, Dolores Arciszewski of Thorp, Louise Sobczynski of Barrington, Illinois, and Florence Lazowski of Oshkosh; one brother, Al Nowobielski of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bill Arciszewski, Jim Sobczynski, Chester Strzok, Leon and Clarence Nowobielski and Tony Tlechacek.
