Klinke, Sandra Jean (24 April 1981)
The Rev. Michael Mertens officiated at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church nuptial
rites, Friday afternoon, April 24, for Sandra Jean Klinke and Gregory Edward
Herrick. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin J. Klinke, Rt. 2 Greenwood
and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herrick, Rt. 1 Willard.
Serving as matron of honor was Joan Hoeper, a sister of the bride from
Greenwood. She was joined by Linda McAley, a friend of the bride also from
Greenwood. Scott Herrick, the groom’s brother of Willard, was bestman while
David Vollrath, a Willard friend, was a groomsman. Ushering were Daniel Trunkel
of Willard and David Braun of Greenwood, friends of the couple.
Martin Hillert, Jr., offered “Time In A Bottle,” “IF,” “These Two,” “The Wedding
Song’ and “You Light Up My Life” as special wedding music.
The bride chose a Juliet-styled, floor-length gown of ivory organza with French
lace and chapel train. She carried a silk flower arrangement of ivory roses,
daisies and baby’s breath, adorned with antique lace and ribbon. Her attendants
wore satin-brocaded, pastel pink and blue dresses and carried silk, spring
floral arrangements. The groom was attired in a three-piece beige suit; his
attendants also wore three-piece suits but in light grey and light blue.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Greenwood American Legion
hall. Prenuptial events included an April 15 shower hosted by Millie Herrick and
Lucille Hawley.
The new Mrs. Herrick is a 1978 graduate of Greenwood High School and is employed
as an office clerk for Clark Electric Co-op in Greenwood. Her husband, a 1978
graduate of Greenwood High, is employed by the Neillsville-Granton Farmers Union
Co-op in Neillsville. The couple will make their home in Greenwood.
