Zion Lutheran Church in Colby honored Mrs. Louella Krauter Saturday, June 2,
1973, in recognition of 25 years of teaching in Zion Lutheran School.
Rev. Robert Hintz, Embarrass, Minnesota, former principal, gave the sermon
titled, “Serve the Lord With Gladness” at the 8:15 evening service. He cited
Mrs. Krauter as a fine example of womanhood as a teacher.
A reception was held and a special cake, decorated by Mrs. Gordon Abegglin, and
coffee was served.
Special guests included Mrs. Krauter’s family; Rev. and Mrs. Hintz, Embarrass,
and Rev. and Mrs. Wm. Christian and family, Clintonville, former pastors at Zion
Lutheran Church; William Wittlief, Palatine, Illinois, former principal of Zion;
the faculty of Trinity Lutheran School in Athens; Rev. and Mrs. Pankow, and many
former students and friends of Mrs. Krauter.
A short skit was presented and she was presented with many special gifts from
her friends.
Mrs. Krauter will return to teaching this fall.
