Hamm, Donna Sue (2 Jun 1973)

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Schmidt are making their home at GSR Box 80, Medford, following their June 2, 1973 wedding at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Curtiss.

Donna Sue Hamm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamm of Curtiss, and Duane Howard Schmidt, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schmidt of Eleva, repeated their vows in a 3 p.m. ceremony before the Rev. Roger L. Tellock.

For her wedding day, the bride selected a floor length gown with a circular skirt and a detachable chapel sweep train in nylon sheer. Center front of dress and train were of Shiffli embroidery and the fitted bodice had a high collard and lantern sleeves, with Venice lace detail. Her two tier elbow length veil was secured to a profile headpiece of Venice lace and organza loops. She carried a heart shaped bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Mrs. Judith Eischer of Withee. She and the bridesmaid, Mrs. June Schmidt of Eau Claire, wore floor length gowns of orchid and Nile green in nylon sheer with softly gathered skirts, high rise waistlines, high collard, accordion pleated ruffles forming a deep V back and front with delicate floral trim and Gibson girl sleeves. They completed their attire with matching profile headpieces with four tier veils. Their colonial bouquets consisted of a sing lavender mum surrounded by white carnations.

Attending the groom were Gregory Neitzel of Curtiss and Wayne Schmidt of Eleva. The organist was Mrs. Rhonda Buss and soloist Miss Gloria Lueth.

A reception, dinner and dance for approximately 200 guess followed the ceremony at the Memorial Hall in Dorchester.

The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School. Her husband graduate from eau Claire Memorial High School and Eau Claire District I Technical Institute. He is employed by Wisconsin Equipment Company in Medford.
