Banfield, Ida Mae (10 August 1910 - 25 August 1983)

THORP - Services for Mrs. Eric (Ida Mae) Banfield, 73, Thorp, who died Thursday in Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen.

The Rev. Margaret Shepherd of United Church of Christ, Owen, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

The former Ida Mae Bailey was born August 10, 1910 in Flandreau, South Dakota, to Mr. and Mrs. William (Phoebe Wilkes) Bailey. She was married to Grant B. Carter in 1930; he died December 8, 1955. She and Eric Banfield were married in 1972. He died October 10, 1981. She had managed the Cardinal Court Motel in Thorp the past four years.

A member of First Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mrs. Banfield is survived by two daughters, Shiela Carter of Lynnwood, Washington and Mrs. Ed (Anita) Caldwell of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; two step-daughters, Mrs. Harry (Laurie) Bruckschlager of Withee and Mrs. Richard (Erica) Anderson of Melford, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a great-grandchild and a sister.
