Miss Mary A. Potter of Wheaton, Illinois and David R. Zimmerman, Owen, were
married August 6 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
The Rev. David R. Lusson performed the ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Potter of Wheaton and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zimmerman. Owen.
The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, had a white sheer and venise
lace gown and a double-tiered fingertip veil of silk illusion secured to a lace
crown. In her bouquet were long-stemmed white roses and ivy.
The bridal aides were Mrs. Cheryl Remmel of Seattle as matron of honor and
Brenda Johnson of Lanesboro, Minnesota, Peggy Kiefer of Addison, Illinois, and
Suzie Zenner, Medford, bridesmaids. They had chiffon blouson gowns and floral
arrangements.
Scott Potter, Wheaton, was best man. Groomsmen were Dave Gay of Stone Lake, Ken
Parnewicz of Withee and James Gummrson of Medford, and ushering were Gary and
Mark Potter.
The wedding reception and dance were at Wildwood Supper Club, Medford. Since the
newlyweds returned from a wedding trip to the East Coast, they have been making
their home in Medford.
A 1974 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, the bridegroom graduated in 1976
from District 1 Technical Institute-Eau Claire, having enrolled in the plumbing
apprentice program. He works in Medford for Kramer Plumbing & Heating, and will
be a licensed plumber by the State of Wisconsin in January as a journeyman.
Prior to accepting employment in Medford, he worked for six years for Dan's
Plumbing and Heating at Owen.
His wife is a special education teacher for learning disabilities/emotionally
disturbed at Stetsonville Elementary School. She graduated in 1975 from
Wheaton-Warrenville High School, Wheaton, and in 1979 from the University of
Wisconsin-La Crosse. She also is working for her master's degree in emotional
disturbance at the UW-Eau Claire and has been employed for two years at
Ladysmith as a special education teacher.
