Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Ross (Golden – 29 April 1981)
On April 29, 1931, Ross Stevens and Innis Snyder were united in Marriage at the
home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Snyder, in the Town of Fremont.
Recently the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a dinner with
50 of the friends and relatives at a Marshfield restaurant.
The dinner followed an open house held at the Marshfield Assembly of God on the
afternoon of Saturday, April 25.
The honored couple wore pink and white carnations at the gala. They recalled
that the Rev. Arnold Borchardt officiated at the original wedding. Joining in
the recollections was Warren Renne of Riverside, California, a cousin of Ross
and a member of the wedding party who attended the golden celebration.
Ross was born on April 2, 1907, to Mr. and Mrs, Chauncey Stevens. He received
his education at Griffith School. He then began farming in the Town of Sherman
and remains active in 120-acre operation. He is affiliated with the Veefkind
Community Church. Among his other community involvements is a 16-year service as
clerk for Griffith School and serving for six years on the board of the Chili
Milk Pool. He enjoys woodworking and his health is good.
Innis was born on September 5, 1905. She was educated in Granton and
Neillsville. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a teacher in Clark County. She
is a member of the Marshfield Assembly of God Church and enjoys gardening,
sewing and crafts of all kinds. Her health is also good.
The couple has one daughter, Mrs. Steven (Dona) Balciar, of Marshfield and one
grandchild, Brenda Balciar.
