Giese, Ellen Gail (14 Jul 1973)
Peace Lutheran Church in the town of Frankfort (Marathon Co.) was the setting of
the July 14, 1973 wedding of Miss Ellen Gail Giese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Giese, route 1, Edgar, and David Harold Syring, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Syring, also of route 1, Edgar.
Rev. L. Davidson performed the 1 p.m. ceremony before the altar bedecked with
apple blossoms.
Mrs. Dennis Telschow as the organist, and Edward Mielke Jr. sang “The Lord’s
Pryaer” and “Take My Hand Dear Father.”
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of nylon organza and
Chantilly lace with bishop sleeves, scalloped lace trim with sequins on the
bodice and skirt, modified waist, A-line skirt, and detachable chapel sweep
train. A Camelot headpiece secured the lace edged cathedral veil. She carried a
sweetheart bouquet of yellow sweet roses, white carnations and Fuji mums.
Miss Barbara Ormond of Neillsville, a friend of the bride, was her maid of
honor. The bridesmaid was Miss Linda Bauman of Edgar, a cousin of the bride. The
attendant’s dresses were styled with a sheer bodice, baby doll sleeves, and
modified A.-line skirt with self-ruffle flounce, the maid of honor in orchid and
the bridesmaid in pink. They wore floral headpieces and carried a casual bouquet
of pink carnations, yellow daisies and yellow baby’s breath.
The miniature bride was Miss Marsha Shepherd of Mosinee, and the ring bearer was
Joel Waldinger of East Peoria, Illinois.
Attending the groom were Russell Giese, the bride’s brother, as best man, and
Larry Syring, the groom’s brother. Terry Bauman and Ricky Syring provided the
ushering services.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home, a dinner in the
church hall, and then a dance in the evening at the Trianon Ballroom.
The new Mrs. Syring is a 1970 graduate of Colby High School, and attended the
University of Wisconsin, River Falls for two years. She is employed at Crestline
in Wausau. Her husband graduated from Stratford High School in 1967, and is
engaged in dairy farming.
After a wedding trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan, the couple will be at home at
route 1, Edgar.
