Mandel, Albert H. (5 May 1900 – 16 Jul 1973)
Albert Henry Mandel, 73, of Marshfield, died suddenly Monday morning, July 16,
1973, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at the United Church of Christ in
Colby at 2 p.m. Rev. Kenneth Dix will officiated, and burial will be made in the
Colby Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday at the Lulloff Funeral
Home.
Mr. Mandel was born May 5, 1900 in the town of Green Grove, Clark County. He
attended the local schools and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he
took a dairy course. On June 16, 1926 he was married to Dorothy Klessig at
Curtiss. He spent his entire life making cheese, first for his father, and later
as his own business in the cheese factory which was built on the farm where he
was born. He retired in 1967 and moved to Marshfield in August of 1968.
He was a former school board member, member of the United Church of Christ, and
a member of the Wisconsin Cheesemakers Association.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Dorene) Michlig, Colby, and
Mrs. Duane (Marlys) Riedel, Marshfield; a brother, Harry Mandel, Unity, and
three grandchildren.
