Bartnik, Frank J. (20 Sep 1907 – 14 Jul 1973)
Frank Joseph Bartnik, 65, of Colby, died suddenly Saturday morning at his home
of an apparent heart attack.
Services were held Tuesday, July 17, 1973 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Colby, with the Rev. Francis Rushman officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary’s
Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday at the Lulloff Funeral Home, where a
general Rosary was said at 8:15 that evening.
Mr. Bartnik was born September, 20, 1907 in the town of Holton, Marathon County.
He attended the Barry School in the town of Holton and spent his entire life on
the farm where hew as born, until moving to Colby in 1971. He was married to the
former Agnes Helfert at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester on June 6, 1934.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, former treasurer of the Barry
School District, and had been active as an officer in the government of the town
of Holton.
Surviving are his wife; seven sons, Charles, Milwaukee, Lawrence, Colby,
Frederick, Mosinee, Arthur, Wausau, Roger, Dorchester, Eugene, St. Paul,
Minnesota, and Richard, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Kathleen) Ludwig,
Marathon, and Marilyn, at home; three sisters, Anna Bartnik, Medford, Mattie
Bartnik, Colby, and Mrs. Joe (Lucille) Miller, Milan, and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
