St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby was the setting for the August 4, 1973
wedding of Miss Diane Firnstahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Firnstahl of
Colby, and Dale Krebsbach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Krebsbach of Colby.
Father Francis Rushman performed the 5 p.m. ceremony. Miss Connie Majewski of
Cudahy was the organist and Miss Mary Neisius of Thorp was the vocalist and
guitarist.
For her wedding day, the bride chose a gown of white sheer organza with
Nottingham lace bodice, full bishop sleeves with matching lace, double ruffle on
hem and full attached train. Her veil was secured by a Camelot headpiece trimmed
with lace and pearls. Her bouquet was of blue spider mums, blue roses, lily of
the valley, star flowers, stephanotis and trailing ivy.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Vicky Johnson of Colby.
Bridesmaids were Miss Cindy Firnstahl and Miss Peggy Lamont of Colby, and Mrs.
Dan Krebsbach of Wausau. They were attired in dresses of rainbow shades of blue,
green, orchid and yellow cotton voile with white lace yoke, baby doll sleeves,
ruffle neckline and ruffle trim with full gathered skirt. Each carried a voile
parasol to match her dress, and wore matching springs of forget-me-nots in her
hair.
The groom’s best man was Steve Brill of Wausau. Groomsmen were Keith Krebsbach
and Mike Lamont of Colby, and Dan Krebsbach of Wausau. Jerry Teclaw of Greendale
and Roger Krebsbach of Colby seated the guests.
Following the ceremony a dinner was served at the First United Church of Christ
in Colby, after which a reception and dance were held at the Sword.
Mrs. Krebsbach is a 1072 graduate of Colby High School and attended the
University of Wisconsin, River Falls. She plans to continue her education in the
area. Her husband is a 1972 graduate of Colby High School and is employed at
Packaging Corporation of America in Colby.
After a wedding trip through several wester sates, the newlyweds will be living
at Route 1, Abbotsford.
