Morrow, Mr./Mrs. James W. (Gold – Aug 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. James Walter Morrow of Colby observed their fiftieth wedding
anniversary at a small family dinner last Wednesday evening. They were also
honored at a family picnic at Marshfield on Sunday.
The former Emma Brandt was born February 19, 1904 in the Town of Beaver in Clark
County. Jim Morrow was born October 6, 1891 in Mosinee. After their marriage in
1923 the Morrows lived in Withee, then moved to K Corners, north of Loyal. They
also lived for a time on a farm which is the present site of the Colby High
School. Before his retirement, Morrow worked at the Colby Cheese Box factory for
fourteen years.
Mr. and Mrs. Morrow had four children, two sons, Donald (Bud) of Colby and
Delbert of Marshfield. They also had two daughters who died in infancy, plus
nine grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
