Miss Judy Venzke, daughter of Mr. Clarence Venzke of Route 2 Athens, and James
Woehrle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Woehrle of Route 5, Marshfield, were united
in marriage Saturday, August 18, 1973 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan.
Rev. Mark Nicholaus performed the 2 p.m. ceremony.
Organist for the service was Alice Barkow and the vocalist was Clarence Barkow.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a white gown with empire bodice
of Venetian lace, blouse sleeves and attached chapel train. Her veil was secured
by a face framer headpiece of silk organza flowers. White and lavender poms,
baby’s breath and yellow roses made up the colonial bridal bouquet.
Serving as the bride’s matron of honor was her sister-in-law, Mrs. Roy Venzke of
Elkhorn. Mrs. Dennis Blum of Abbotsford was the bridesmaid. They were attired in
floor length gowns with lavender skirt gathered at modified waistline, with
white bodice having multi-colored bib effect, and matching headpieces. Their
flowers were colonial bouquets of lavender and white carnations.
The bride’s brother, Roy Venzke of Elkhorn, served as best man. John Venzke of
Route 2, Athens, was the groomsman, and Dennis Blum of Abbotsford and Jerry
Nowak of Spencer were the ushers.
A reception, dinner and dance followed the ceremony at the Trianon Ballroom.
The bride is a graduate of Abbotsford High School and is employed by Dorchester
Furniture Company, Dorchester. Her husband graduated from Marshfield High School
and is employed by Urban American in house construction.
They will make their first home at Route 5, Marshfield.
