Herrmann, Cathy Jo (21 Jul 1973)
Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend was the setting for the
candlelight wedding of Cathy Jo Herrmann and Darrell Duehring. Officiating at
the double ring ceremony was Dr. Harry W. Baumer. The bride was given in
marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Herrmann of Superior, former Colby
residents, during the 4 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, July 21, 1973. The groom’s
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Duehring of West Bend.
The bride entered the church wearing an empress waist gown in whit polyester
organza, styled with a yellow bib bodice trimmed in white and had a stand up
collar. The short puffed sleeves were cuffed with double ruffles and trim, and a
yellow sash encircled the waistline. Her profile headpiece, accented with
flowered appliques and pearls, held the chapel length veil. She carried a hand
bouquet of daisy mums and fern.
The bride’s sister, Cindy Herrmann, West Bend, served as maid of honor. Barb
Wilkens, West Bend, and Wendy Awe, Colby, were bridesmaids. The attendants
appeared in floor length yellow organza gowns fashioned in the same pattern as
the bride, and they wore floppy hats as headpieces. They carried baskets of
white and yellow daisies accented with blue star flowers.
The groom was attended by his brother, Fred K. Herrmann, Duehring, Germantown,
who was best man, and by Calvin Hermann, Chippewa Falls and Robert Duehring,
Jackson, as groomsmen.
The flower girl, Shelly Duehring, Germantown, was attired in a gown matching
those of the bridesmaids. She carried a miniature hand bouquet matching the
bride’s. Kevin Duitsman, Shannon, Illinois, was ring bearer. Penny Herrmann,
Colby, and Mary Ellen Duehring, Germantown, were candle lighters. They wore
gowns identical to the attendants, but were in blue polyester organza. The
ushers were Jack Duehring and Dale Tietz, Germantown.
The organist, Mrs. Phyllis Lawson, Shannon, Illinois, accompanied the soloist,
Terri Wilfer, West Bend, who sang “There is Love” and “The Wedding Prayer.”
After the vows had been said, the wedding party and guests precede to the
Richfield Hall for dinner, followed by a dance.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Duehring have returned from a honeymoon in northern
Wisconsin and are residing at 704 Chestnut Street, West Bend.
