Greeler, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin (Golden - 1981)
Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Greeler, Rt. 4 Neillsville, who were married on June 18,
1931, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary on Sunday afternoon and evening, June 14, with an open house and
dance held at the Granton Sportsmen’s Club.
The event was hosted by their four children and families. Their children include
Erland Greeler, Neillsville; Mrs. Raymond (Delores) Zipfel, Neillsville; Mrs.
Roger (Lucille) Tyler, Granton; and Mrs. Harold (Janice) Mayer, Neillsville.
There are also 25 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Erwin Greeler was born on the home farm on October 30, 1905, and his wife, the
former Lorena Matter, was born in Spencer on February 16, 1908. They farmed near
Neillsville on the home farm until 1975 when they moved to an adjoining farm now
owned by their son.
Among the many guests were all of their original members of their wedding party.
They include Frances (Matter) and Herbert Schwocho, Wausau; Mrs. Dorothy (Pockat)
Bock, Pelican Lake; Rueben (Pockat) Bock, Marion; and Mrs. Berdine (Luther)
Stroetz, Marshfield.
