Schmid, Marilyn Sue (1 Sep 1973)

Miss Marilyn Sue Schmid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anselm Schmid Jr. of Dorchester, was given in marriage by her parents to Kirk Merlin Schjoneman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin L. Schjoneman of Colby, at a 1 p.m. nuptial ceremony performed by Father Jacob Burggraf at the St. Louis Catholic Church at Dorchester, Saturday, September 1, 1973.

John J. Weber, Milwaukee, brother-in-law of the bride, was the guitar-soloist. Mrs. Dan Decker was the organist and Mrs. martin Schultz, the soloist.

Miss Patricia Ann Schmidt, Mount Prospect, Illinois, was her sister’s matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Margi Seefluth, Owen, sister of the groom, Kathleen M. Weber, Milwaukee, and Marjean Schmidt, Mount Prospect, Illinois, sister of the bride.

Mark L. Schjoneman, Abbotsford, was his brother’s best man, and groomsmen were Donald Schmidt, Waukegan, Illinois, brother of the bride, John J. Weber, brother-in-law of the bride, and Allen Schjoneman, Colby, brother of the groom. All wore white tuxedos. Ushers were Jerrold Schmidt, Dorchester, brother of the bride, and Randy Tessmer, Abbotsford, friend of the groom.

For her special day, the bride selected a princess styled A-line gown of merrimist organza over taffeta with pearl lace flared flounce. The high neckline of Chantilly lace and pearl trim accented the self-ruffle encircling her shoulders and long tapered sleeves. Her floor length veil edged with cathedral lace formed a double net train. She carried a cascade of American Beauty and pink roses centered with a white orchid held by baby’s breath, fern and white streamer of rose buds.

The bride’s attendants wore matching flow gowns of organza over pink taffeta with neckline flounce. Pink chiffon cummerbunds with flowing sash accented the princess line skirts with gather flare. They wore pink toned taffeta bows with pearl butterflies in their hair and carried two long stemmed pink roses.

The wedding reception and dinner were held at the Dorchester Memorial Hall, and the dance in the evening was held at the Sword at Colby.

The bride is a 1971 graduate of Colby High School and has been employed as receptionist at Wick Buildings Systems at Spencer. The bridegroom is a 1970 graduate of the Colby High School, attended Eau Claire College, has been the general manager of the Schjoneman White Truck Sales and Service at Medford.

After a trip through northern Wisconsin and Canada, the newlyweds will reside at Abbotsford.
