NEILLSVILLE -- Gary Roehl, Route 2, Loyal, reported to the Clark County
Sheriff's Department Tuesday that he had been robbed of $80 at gunpoint in a
rural area northwest of Granton.
According to the county authorities, Roehl said he had been inside the Silver
Dollar Tavern in Granton and that a male and female had been in the bar. He said
they left some 15 or 20 minutes before he left and that when he got into his
car, a male individual, who had been hiding in the back seat, held a gun to his
head and forced him to drive out of town, north on County Trunk K. After
rounding the second curve, Roehl said, the individual told him to drive onto a
town road and stop by a bridge.
At this point a vehicle pulled up behind, and after robbing Roehl of $80 at
gunpoint, he fled in the other vehicle, which Roehl said was driven by a woman.
The Sheriff's Department is investigating.
