Wendt, Frederick A. (31 May 1915 – 26 June 1981)
A resident of Neillsville for the past 25 years, Frederick A. Wendt age 66,
passed away on Friday afternoon, June 26, in Neillsville Memorial Home.
The deceased was born to Frederick E. and Minnie R. (Raether) Wendt in Alma
Center on May 31, 1915. At the age of two, he moved with his parents to the
Neillsville area where he received his education.
He then farmed in the Town of Weston for several years. It was during this time
that he married June R. Fradette in October 1, 1933, Neillsville ceremonies.
The Wendts moved to Neillsville about 25 years ago. He worked for Plautz
Brothers for several years and then was employed by Nelson Muffler until ill
health forced his retirement. About four months ago, he became a resident of
Neillsville Memorial Home.
Surviving him, besides his wife, are two sons, Clair of Marshfield and Larry of
Stoughton; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Terriann) Kurasz of Morrison, Illinois,
and Mrs. Frederick (Kathleen) Dux of Neillsville; to sisters, Mary Stuhlman of
Weyauwega and Eva Wendt of Neillsville; and thirteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eugene; one granddaughter; and
three brothers, Alton, Alvin and Melvin.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, June 30, from the Neillsville
United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Burial was made in
the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Wendt, Frederick A. (31 May 1915 – 26 June 1981)
Funeral services were held on June 30 for Frederick a. Wendt, 66, who passed
away on June 26. The Rev. Gary Clark officiated at the Neillsville United Church
of Christ services, with burial made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The
Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Special music for the service included “Beyond The Sunset” and “What A Friend We
Have In Jesus,” offered by Deon Spangler and Lori Ann Langreck. Serving as
pallbearers were Lawrence Kyle, Russell Seelow, Alfred Boon, Clarence Miller,
Jake Fitzmaurice and Calvin Mills.
Attending from out of town were Mr./Mrs. Stanley Kurasz & family, Morrison, Il.;
Larry Wendt & family, Stoughton; Naomi Fradette, Eau Claire; Carol Johnson,
Mr./Mrs. Earl Nelson, Mr./Mrs. Fred Rusch, Mr./Mrs. Duwayne Welch, David Berlick
and Martha Meihack, all of Marshfield; Diane Graveen & sons, Wausau; Mary
Stuhlman, Weyauwega; and Mr./Mrs. Dennis Harcey, Stillwater, Mn.
They were joined by Mr./Mrs. Richard Fradette & family, Prior Lake, Mn.;
Mr./Mrs. Robert Johnson & daughters, Minneapolis, Mn.; Mr./Mrs. Ronald Hribar &
family, Oconomowoc; Mr./Mrs. Leo Neville & son, Middleton; Mr./Mrs. Ray Hurlburt,
Black River Falls; Mr./Mrs. Francis Michels, Alma Center; Mr./Mrs. Albin Person,
Osseo; Neland Will & daughter, Colby; Mr./Mrs. Verland Berrett, Betty Lenz and
Mr./Mrs. Alfred Boon, all of Greenwood; and Mr./Mrs. Robert Canfield and
Mr./Mrs. Harvey Johnson, all of Granton.
(In the obituary of Mr. Wendt, last week it was not reported that he was also
survived by four step-grandchildren.)
