Fire of an undetermined origin completely destroyed a 120 by 50 foot machine shed and contents on the Maurice Courtney farm four and one-half miles east of the Abby drive-in theater Tuesday noon.

Colby fire department responded to the call, and efforts to save the building were hampered by strong winds from the west.

The building was a pole structure, with tin sheeting on the roof and sides, and approximately fourteen months old. It housed a combine, tractor, corn planter, other general farm machinery, and some grain. Estimates on the loss are not available at this time.
