Hauge, Jamie (Scholarship - 1981)

Scholarship awards totaling $2800 to students graduating from fourteen high schools in communities served by the Green Lake Ready Mix Company were announced recently by David Meilahn, general manager. The student selected from Neillsville High School to receive a $250 cash grant is Jamie Hauge, 300 Court St., Neillsville. Jamie plans to attend Mid-State Tech at Marshfield.

“This is the second year we have given these awards as part of our community relations program,” pointed out Gary Zschernitz, manager of the company’s Neillsville plant, “and we are very pleased by the enthusiastic response from both students and school administrators. “While the company sets the criteria for the awards, selection of the recipient is made by the school. “Students selected,” Zschernitz said, “must have a good scholastic record and be active in school affairs. First priority is given to students planning to attend a technical or vocational school.”

Green Lake Ready Mix Company, with headquarters in Ripon, operated plants in Omro, Green Lake, Wautoma, Westfield, Montello, Manchester, Oxford, Adams-Friendship and Neillsville.
