GREENWOOD -- Several Clark County Farm Bureau members were honored at the
group's annual dinner meeting Tuesday in Greenwood.
Among those recognized were Verne Mortvedt, Chili, as honored board member;
Jeanne Mortvedt, Chili as woman of the year; and Henry Stiemann, Owen, for
serving on the board of directors for 12 years and president since 1974.
The Sherman Farm Bureau Council also recognized Beverly and Marvin Burkhalter,
Granton, for their three days of working at Farm Progress Days in July.
Elected as delegates to the state convention in December were Stiemann and
Thurman Craig, Willard. Newly elected member of the board of directors are
Richard Shaw, Neillsville; Laverne Meissner, Chili, Lynn Smith, Loyal, and Dale
Shaefer, Curtiss. The Board's reorganization meeting to elect officers will be
held Monday at the Clark Electric Auditorium.
Several resolutions on Local, state, national and international issues also were
considered at the annual meetings.
