The Rev. Marshall H. Averbeck of Curtiss assumed the pastorate of Curtiss
Alliance Church in July of 1979, coming from Lyle, Minnesota. Pastor Averbeck
was born December 27, 1922 in Fond du Lac. He attended ST. Paul Bible College
and Bethel Seminary, both in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was ordained September 28,
1949 in Appleton. His marriage occurred June 10, 1944. He and his wife, Ruth,
are the parents of a son, Gary of Rockford, Minnesota, and a daughter, Darla, of
Batesville, Arizona. There are seven grandchildren. He is a member of the
Curtiss Community Club and the Area Ministerial group. He has had pastorates for
37 years, serving churches in Iowa, North and South Dakota and Minnesota. While
at Curtiss, a 30x50 educational and fellowship addition was constructed and this
year a home for a parsonage was purchased in Curtiss.
