Seidel, Oscar A. (28 Apr 1902 – 9 Dec 1973)
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 1973, at St.
Bernard’s Catholic Church at Abbotsford for Oscar Albert Seidel, 71, with Father
Emil Hodnik officiating. Burial was in Stetsonville.
Mr. Seidel died December 9, 1973 at St. Joseph Hospital at Marshfield of natural
causes. The body lay in state at Polnaszek Funeral Home, where a rosary was said
at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Seidel was born April 28, 1902 at rural Dorchester. He received his
education in Dorchester schools. His marriage to Wilma Marie Duellman took place
September 8, 1931 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Colby. He was a long time
resident of Abbotsford and worked as a welder and mechanic at Johnston Motors
Corporation in Waukegan Illinois for 15 years, until his retirement in 1967.
Surviving are his wife and seven children, Mrs. Edward (Ella) Brill of Colby,
Mrs. Edward (Shirley) Scheeler of Cazenovia, James of Marshfield, Kenneth of
Cazenovia, Gerald of Marshfield and Mrs. James (Marion) Blahnik of Dover,
Minnesota; 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank of
Colby, Walter of Medford, and Albert of Glastonbury, conn., and a sister, Mrs.
Gene (Ella) Banze of Butler.
