WITHEE - A 14-year-old rujral Withee boy was injured Sunday by a shotgun blast.
Billy Wagner, according to his mother, Roseann, is in "good condition" today at
Memorial Hospital of Taylor County.
Taylor County authorities said he was hunting with his father and a brother near
Perkinstown when the mishap occurred. Norman Dassow, assistant Taylor County
investigator, said it was an accidental shooting, but the mishap is still being
investigated. Pellets taken from the boy have been sent to the State Crime
Laboratory in Madison to determine the shot number and gauge.
He said the shot came from 50-75 feet behind the boy and the pellets lodged from
Wagner's head to his legs. Mrs. Wagner said that 39 of the 43 pellets which hit
her son have not yet been removed.
