COLBY - The Hotel Colby has a new function, a new ownership and a new name.
The building recently was purchased by James Krug, Medford, who soon will be
opening Jim's Country Lounge and Steak House.
Krug, who owns the Miracle Mile Diner in Medford, said he plans to run a
"Family-priced" steak house with full table service, along with a lounge
featuring country and western or country rock music Tuesdays through Saturdays.
The bar and lounge are scheduled to open on Tuesday and the restaurant will open
October 11.'"We think we can pull people in from Medford to Marshfield," Krug
said. "When you put the restaurant and the music together, it should be a good
draw."
Although he is still working on the floor plan, Krug said he is not planning any
major remodeling changes for the building. From 20 to 30 people will be employed
there.
Once the restaurant/bar operations are underway, Krug said he may convert the
upper rooms of the building into a rooming house.
